Safestreet sponsored a student research project in 2010 at the University of Sherbrooke, Decrease of storm-water flow in urban areas, to examine the state of the art concerning the on-site retention of storm water flows in the United States and the potential for adapting this technology in Quebec, taking into consideration the northern climate, especially winter. The project examined soil, hydraulic and plant data. The protection of the water table remains an extremely important issue.
